Bauxite is found in Johor, Pahang, and Sarawak. Gold deposits are found in several Malaysian states, including Kelantan, Pahang, and Johor. Manganese is mined in Pahang, Johor, and Terengganu.

Mining and mineral-processing activities contributed 9.4 billion ringgit (US$3.19 billion) to the economy in 2011, representing a 3.4% growth over 2010.
