Generator Companies in Malaysia

Electricity in Malaysia is generated, transmitted, and distributed by four different companies. The main generator company in Malaysia is Tenaga Nasional Berhad (TNB), which is a government-linked company. TNB owns and operates all of the hydroelectric dams in Malaysia, as well as a few coal-fired power plants. The other three generator companies are Malakoff Berhad, Powertek Berhad, and Genting Berhad. All three of these companies are private companies.

Malakoff Berhad is the largest private power producer in Malaysia. The company owns and operates a number of coal-fired power plants, as well as a few gas-fired power plants. Powertek Berhad is the second largest private power producer in Malaysia. The company owns and operates a number of gas-fired power plants. Genting Berhad is the third largest power producer in Malaysia. The company owns and operates a number of hydroelectric dams, as well as a few coal-fired power plants.
